NAIL-BITING FINISH !
It was a nail-biting end to a gruelling two hours (with extra time) that saw a goal-less draw between Paraguay and Japan. Players, coaches and fans alike do not like a penalty shoot out to decide a game. But rules have to be followed; and that was how Paraguay outdid Japan with a 5-3 penalty shoot out on its way to qualify for the quarter-finals in the 2010 World Cup.

PETALING JAYA CITY COUNCILLORS' FULL BOARD MEETING

The PJ City Councillors' full board meeting was held this morning. It is to be last meeting for the appointed Councillors whose term ends tomorrow. The Mayor Dato' Roslan Sakiman who usually chairs the meeting was absent due to medical reasons, and Mr. Puasa the Deputy Mayor stood in for him.

The list of new Councillors will be announced in two weeks, said Mr. Puasa.

Rumours are rife that disabled Councillor Mr. Anthony Thanasayan who has already served two terms in Petaling Jaya will be going to the Klang Municipality Council. News is also spreading fast that two "powerful" DISABLED MEN are working behind the scenes using unscrupulous means to prevent a DISABLED WOMAN from being appointed as Councillor in the Petaling Jaya Council.

                ACCESS DENIED !!!
There is NO access for wheelchair users to the Bilik Syarahan (Lecture Room) at the PJ Civic Centre. This is what I discovered when I had to attend the All Petaling Jaya Residents' Associations Coalition (APAC) Annual General Meeting there today. The Civic Centre complex which is the pride of the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has beautifully constructed ramps at the entrance which leads to the foyer, but has only  flight of steps connecting the foyer down to the lecture room.

How could MBPJ have overlooked the need for seamless connectivity within the complex for wheelchair users??
